The Way It Used To Be

Marcy crosses her legs delicately, smoothing out the fabric of her pink floral minidress as she leans back in her chair. Her high heels tap lightly against the floor, a habit she hasn’t quite lost, even though it’s been ages since she wore them for a night out. She gazes out the window, her mind drifting back to when she and the girls used to hit the clubs. The laughter, the music vibrating through the floor, and the feeling of being unstoppable in her favorite dresses.

She used to love the thrill of it all—dressing up, perfecting her makeup, the way her heels clicked confidently down the street. The nights would be full of dancing, shouting over the music to be heard, and those little moments where the world felt like it was spinning in perfect harmony just for them. It was freedom. It was youth. It was everything she took for granted.

Now, those nights feel like a lifetime ago. Her body has changes in so man ways, she isn't as young, her curves have gone, she's a man now. Her body reminds her she's not a woman. Her skin isn't soft, her breasts are no existant. She even has something in her underwear she could never have imagined having before. It’s not that she doesn’t want to—she certainly couldn't go wearing the old dresses. She's still young enough to go wearing male attire, but it wouldn't be the same. She feels a pang of longing as she stares at her reflection in the window. The girl who used to rule the night is still there, somewhere beneath her hard body, her life has changed.

She sighed. Those nights out with the girls—dressed to the nines, feeling like nothing could stop them—were gone. And while she cherished the memories, there was an undeniable ache in knowing they were just that: memories.
